The Indonesian Medical Association (Ikatan Dokter Indonesia, or IDI) is the professional organization representing doctors across Indonesia. Affiliated with the government through the Ministry of Health, it works to strengthen medical ethics, collegiality, and professional standards while supporting a healthy and dignified society. IDI’s stated vision is to foster Indonesian doctors who are ethical, independent, and professional, and who value fellowship among colleagues.

With a network of 33 regional organizations and 242 branches, IDI provides a nationwide structure for member engagement and access to organizational services. Its activities include medical education, scientific events, competency-related information, and training, including workshops on writing systematic articles. The association also shares professional knowledge through the Journal of the Indonesian Medical Association and the Indonesian Medical Ethics Journal, alongside news and health information for the public. Through initiatives such as continuing medical education and collaborative programs, IDI promotes learning and cooperation within the medical community. Its “IDI Reborn” agenda emphasizes organizational renewal, accountability, modernization, and coordinated work among members.
