Ikatan Dokter Indonesia (IDI) is Indonesia’s professional organization for doctors, serving as a national association and representative body for the medical profession. Affiliated with the government through the Ministry of Health, IDI works to promote ethical, independent, and professional medical practice, strengthen collegial relationships among doctors, and contribute to a healthy and dignified society. Its network spans 33 regions and 242 branches across Indonesia, with 32,220 members reported on its website.

IDI supports members and the wider medical community through professional and educational activities. Its offerings include information about the Indonesian Doctor Competency Examination, continuing medical education partnerships, scientific events, training and workshops, and medical publications. These include the Journal of the Indonesian Medical Association and the Indonesian Medical Ethics Journal. The organization also shares health information for the public, including guidance on reproductive health and early screening.

Through its “IDI Reborn” initiative, the association describes its aim to become a more independent, modern, accountable, and collaborative organization, guided by professional ethics and collegiality.
