The Indonesian Medical Association (Ikatan Dokter Indonesia, or IDI) is a professional organization that represents and supports doctors across Indonesia. Affiliated with the Ministry of Health, it aims to foster ethical, independent, and professional medical practice, strengthen collegiality among doctors, and contribute to a healthy and dignified society. IDI operates through a network of 33 regional organizations and 242 branches, serving more than 32,000 members.

The association provides professional and educational resources, including medical journals, scientific activities, workshops, and training. Its programs cover topics such as medical writing, systematic article writing, and wound-care education, while its website also shares information about doctor competency testing and continuing medical education partnerships. Publications include the Journal of the Indonesian Medical Association and the Indonesian Medical Ethics Journal. IDI also communicates professional updates, organizational news, and public health information, including guidance on reproductive health and early screening. Through its “IDI Reborn” initiative, the organization describes a commitment to becoming more independent, modern, accountable, collaborative, and responsive in preparing for the future of healthcare in Indonesia.
