Ikatan Dokter Indonesia (IDI) is Indonesia’s professional organisation for doctors, bringing together physicians across the country. Affiliated with the Ministry of Health, IDI works to strengthen professional ethics, collegiality and cooperation among doctors, while supporting a healthier and more dignified society. Its vision is to foster Indonesian doctors who are ethical, independent and professional, and who uphold their shared responsibilities to colleagues and the profession.

With 33 regional organisations and 242 branches, IDI serves a nationwide membership of more than 32,000 doctors. Its activities include professional development, medical education and scientific events, as well as competency-related information and training. The organisation also publishes medical journals, including the Journal of the Indonesian Medical Association and the Indonesian Medical Ethics Journal, and shares health information and articles for the public. Through initiatives such as training programmes and educational partnerships, IDI supports learning and collaboration across the medical community. Its “IDI Reborn” agenda emphasises organisational renewal, accountability, modernisation and stronger collaborative performance, guided by the principle of collegiality.
