The Indonesian Medical Association (Ikatan Dokter Indonesia, or IDI) is the professional organization representing doctors across Indonesia. Through its national body and network of regional and local branches, IDI supports a nationwide medical community and promotes ethical, independent, and professional practice. The organization reports a presence in 33 regions and 242 branches, with 32,220 members. Its publications include the Journal of the Indonesian Medical Association, the Indonesian Journal of Medical Ethics, and related medical writing resources. The association also shares information about organizational events, training programs, and public health initiatives, such as a school program focused on children’s readiness to respond to wounds. Guided by its “IDI Reborn” agenda, the organization describes its goal as becoming more independent, modern, accountable, collaborative, and responsive to the future of healthcare in Indonesia.
