The Indonesian Medical Association (Ikatan Dokter Indonesia, or IDI) is a professional organization representing doctors throughout Indonesia. Its stated vision is to foster doctors who are ethical, independent, professional, and committed to collegiality. Its mission includes strengthening medical ethics and professional fellowship while contributing to a healthy and dignified society. IDI operates through a nationwide network, with 33 regional organizations and 242 branches, and reports more than 32,000 members.

The association supports the medical profession through organizational resources, educational activities, and scientific information. Its website features medical journals, including the Journal of the Indonesian Medical Association and the Indonesian Journal of Medical Ethics, as well as workshops, medical writing programs, and continuing medical education partnerships. It also shares information about doctor competency examinations, professional events, and public health topics. IDI describes its “IDI Reborn” initiative as a drive toward a more independent, modern, accountable, collaborative, and effective professional organization. Through its national and local network, IDI connects doctors and provides a platform for professional development, shared standards, and engagement with health issues in Indonesia.
