The Indonesian Medical Association, known as Ikatan Dokter Indonesia (IDI), is the professional organization representing doctors across Indonesia. Affiliated with the Ministry of Health, IDI works to strengthen the medical profession and support a healthier, more dignified society. Its stated vision is for Indonesian doctors to be ethical, independent, professional, and committed to collegiality. The organization promotes medical ethics, professional solidarity, and cooperation among doctors.

IDI operates through a national body, 33 regional organizations, and 242 branches, serving a reported membership of more than 32,000 doctors. Offerings and resources include medical education, competency examination information, workshops, training, scientific events, and continuing medical education partnerships. IDI also shares medical publications, including the Journal of the Indonesian Medical Association and the Indonesian Medical Ethics Journal, alongside health information and organizational news. Through its “IDI Reborn” initiative, the association describes its goal of becoming a more independent, modern, accountable, collaborative, and forward-looking professional organization.
