The Indonesian Medical Association, known as Ikatan Dokter Indonesia (IDI), is the professional organization that represents and supports doctors across Indonesia. Affiliated with the Ministry of Health, IDI works to strengthen medical professionalism and ethics while promoting collegiality among physicians and contributing to a healthy, dignified society. Its stated vision is a community of Indonesian doctors who are ethical, independent, professional, and committed to fellowship.

With a network spanning 33 regions and 242 branches, IDI serves a reported membership of 32,220 doctors. Its activities include professional education, scientific events, competency-related information, training, and continuing medical education partnerships. The organization also shares medical knowledge through publications, including the Journal of the Indonesian Medical Association and the Indonesian Medical Ethics Journal, as well as workshops on article writing. IDI provides organizational information, event announcements, and resources for doctors through its website. Under its “IDI Reborn” initiative, the association describes its direction as building an independent, modern, accountable organization grounded in collaboration, strong ideas, and consistent professional fellowship.
