The Indonesian Medical Association (Ikatan Dokter Indonesia, or IDI) is the professional organization representing doctors across Indonesia. Its stated purpose is to foster ethical, independent, and professional medical practice while strengthening collegiality among physicians and supporting a healthy, dignified society. IDI operates through a broad network of 33 regional organizations and 242 branches, serving more than 32,000 members, and is affiliated with the government through Indonesia’s Ministry of Health.

The organization supports members and the wider medical community through professional education, scientific activities, competency-related information, and publications. Its resources include the Journal of the Indonesian Medical Association, the Indonesian Journal of Medical Ethics, training and writing workshops, and continuing medical education partnerships. IDI also shares health information and promotes public awareness through articles and programs, including initiatives focused on children’s first aid and women’s reproductive health.
