About IDPC
IDPC (Information and Data Protection Commissioner) is the national supervisory authority responsible for monitoring and enforcing the provisions of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and the Data Protection Act. They also enforce the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act and ensure that public authorities comply with its requirements. IDPC has several objectives, including promoting a culture where safeguarding data protection rights is viewed as a natural part of organizations' operations, increasing public trust in the proper use of personal data, and taking corrective actions against controllers who violate GDPR provisions.
They also assist micro and small enterprises in complying with the GDPR, raise data protection awareness through dedicated EU funds, and cooperate with European counterparts to ensure consistent GDPR application.
