The Industrial Environmental Association (IEA) is a San Diego County organization founded in 1983 to promote industry while protecting the environment. Serving as “A Voice for Manufacturers in San Diego County,” it advocates on behalf of industry to influence legislation and helps member companies navigate environmental compliance. IEA also provides educational opportunities for training and certification, bringing together professionals, regulators, and policymakers.

Its programs include monthly committee meetings, workshops, and “Meet the Policy Maker” events covering diverse subject areas. The association hosts an annual Environmental Training Symposium and Conference, offering attendees insights into legislation and opportunities for interaction between regulators and industry. IEA membership draws on experts and thought leaders from industries and communities across San Diego County.

Environmental responsibility is central to the association’s work: IEA promotes strong compliance efforts among member companies as a matter of written policy. Members also share a commitment to fostering a positive perception of industry in Southern California.
