The Spanish Inventory of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity (IEPNB) is a public information portal focused on Spain’s natural heritage, biodiversity, ecosystems and protected areas. It brings together data, inventories and resources to support access to information about species, habitats, wetlands, forests, soils and genetic resources. The portal presents a range of national inventories, including those covering species, habitats, wetlands, forest resources, soil erosion, forest damage, zoological parks and traditional knowledge related to biodiversity.

Visitors can explore a data catalogue, reports, projects and indicators, as well as access geographic information through the Geoportal of the Nature Data Bank. Additional geoportals provide services for viewing, querying and analysing cartographic information related to biodiversity, forests and desertification. The site also offers data models, controlled lists, methodologies, interoperable services, data-ingestion templates and tools. Its content is intended for public administrations, researchers, technical professionals and other users seeking information on Spain’s natural environment. The portal shares updates on related initiatives and provides guidance, contact details and information about collaborating entities and relevant regulations.
