The International Economic and Labor Research Institute (IELRI) is a collaborative research organization established to promote labor movements and social initiatives. Founded in 1948, initially as the Kansai Labor Research Meeting, it evolved into its current form in 1993, focusing on comprehensive research in labor, economics, and social issues both domestically and internationally.

IELRI aims to contribute to the formation of public policy and the advancement of social movements through rigorous research and analysis. Its structure comprises three main divisions: the International Economic Research Division, the Social Psychology Research Division, and the Labor Politics Research Division, each dedicated to various aspects of labor studies.

The institute also conducts joint research projects, workshops, and seminars to foster collaboration among labor unions, academia, and industry professionals. By participating in these research initiatives, members help create a better society while accessing resources like publications, training, and networking opportunities.
