IFAIN (International Foundation Against Infectious Disease in Nigeria) is committed to reducing the burden of infectious and related diseases in Nigeria, with a focus on children. Nigeria has one of the highest under-five mortality rates in the world, and many of these deaths are caused by preventable bacterial infections. However, there is a lack of understanding about the magnitude of these infections and their associated illnesses.

IFAIN works to generate a credible surveillance system to determine the causes of bacterium syndromes and opportunistic infections in Nigerian children. By collecting data and conducting innovative research, IFAIN aims to develop new tests and vaccines, as well as monitor the impact of medical interventions. They also support the local healthcare system by providing improved diagnostic capabilities and training healthcare professionals.

IFAIN collaborates with like-minded individuals and organizations, both locally and internationally, to achieve their goals of reducing childhood mortality and morbidity, improving disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, and strengthening the local healthcare infrastructure.
