IFEDD, short for Initiative des Femmes Entrepreneurs pour le Développement Durable, is a local non-governmental organization based in Goma, in the North-Kivu province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Established in 2016, IFEDD's goal is to promote a world where every individual is treated with dignity and has the opportunity to reach their full potential, particularly focusing on marginalized groups. IFEDD has successfully implemented projects like supporting the structuring of mining cooperatives in Kalehe and Idjwi territories, as well as empowering women in the mining sector through initiatives like the "Femmes et Mines" project. Through partnerships with organizations like the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Open Society Africa, IFEDD is making strides in creating sustainable, ethical, and inclusive mining practices for a brighter future in the region.
