The International Scientific Forum on Home Hygiene (IFH) is dedicated to enhancing hygiene practices in domestic and everyday environments through scientifically-grounded principles. Established in 1997, IFH serves as a comprehensive resource hub, providing up-to-date information on home hygiene, including scientific reviews, guidelines, training materials, and factsheets.
The organization focuses on a risk-based approach known as Targeted Hygiene, which addresses contemporary challenges such as antimicrobial resistance and infectious diseases, highlighted by lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic. IFH offers various resources, including consumer information on hygiene practices, healthcare guidelines for caring for vulnerable individuals, and educational materials for public spaces like schools and hospitals.
In addition, IFH emphasizes the importance of public engagement to promote effective hygiene behaviors, thereby aiming to reduce the prevalence of infections. Through its extensive publications and resources, IFH is committed to fostering a healthier and safer living environment for families and communities worldwide.
