Ignition Gamers is a Canberra-based provider of NDIS social gaming and peer support for autistic teens and young adults aged 14–35. It uses participants’ interest in video and tabletop games to create welcoming opportunities for connection, confidence-building, and greater independence. The program is designed to be relaxed and inclusive, helping participants feel understood while developing skills that can support life beyond gaming.
Services include weekly, face-to-face social gaming sessions, personalised one-on-one mentoring and coaching, and access to a community of peers with shared interests and lived experience. Peer workers draw on their own experiences to offer practical encouragement and support at a pace suited to each participant. Mentoring may also help participants explore activities such as fitness, further education, volunteering, and career pathways.
Ignition Gamers provides opportunities to build friendships and practise communication in both in-person and online settings. Participants can join social activities beyond the screen and connect through a private Discord community. The organisation also offers a free trial session for people interested in exploring its support.
