The Illinois Health Care Association (IHCA) is a nonprofit, statewide organization founded in 1950 to support providers across Illinois’ long-term care continuum. Its membership includes more than 500 licensed and certified long-term care centers, as well as homes and programs serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Guided by a board of directors, IHCA works to help members navigate a changing care environment and strengthen the services they provide.
Advocacy is central to the association’s work. Its experienced public policy team represents members before the Illinois General Assembly and state agencies on legislative and regulatory matters. The Center for Developmental Disabilities and Community Supports, an IHCA entity, advocates for members serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
IHCA also offers educational programs, seminars, events, scholarships, and on-demand learning for long-term care professionals. Members can access networking opportunities, product and service discounts, preferred vendors, business resources, communications, and employment and marketing opportunities. Through these services, IHCA aims to help providers build expertise and deliver high-quality care to Illinois residents.
