Icelandic Horse Society of Great Britain

The Icelandic Horse Society of Great Britain, established in 1986, is dedicated to preserving the purity of the unique Icelandic horse breed, promoting interest in the breed, ensuring the welfare of the horses, and encouraging breeding and riding competitions. As a full member of FEIF (the International Federation of Icelandic Horse Associations), IHSGB is the sole Icelandic horse association in the UK recognized by FEIF to represent the entire country. They issue passports for purebred Icelandic horses, organize national championships and events, and send a team to compete at the World Championships for Icelandic Horses every two years.

They also publish a regular magazine called Sleipnir. With members all around Britain, they offer various opportunities for young riders and welcome anyone with an interest in these remarkable horses. For those passionate about these Viking horses and wishing to be part of the society or looking for more information, they can visit the IHSGB website or contact membership@ihsgb.
