IISUMOD

IISUMOD, the International Institute for Sustainable Mountain Development, is an organization focused on preserving and sustainably developing mountain regions. It highlights the importance of mountains to planetary health and human well-being, including their role in supplying freshwater, supporting biodiversity and food security, and safeguarding cultural and natural heritage. IISUMOD also draws attention to the pressures mountain ecosystems face from climate change and environmental degradation.

The institute’s work centers on sustainable management and protection of mountain environments so they can continue supporting communities and ecosystems into the future. Its website features information about the organization, its work and initiatives, alongside a library and gallery. IISUMOD also invites people to join its community of volunteers, whose enthusiasm and support contribute to its initiatives and activities. Visitors can learn more about the organization, contact the team, and connect through its social media channels. By promoting awareness and engagement, IISUMOD seeks to encourage the long-term care of mountain regions and the resources, biodiversity, and heritage they sustain.
