The Ireland Japan Association was established in 1990 and is a not-for-profit association. The IJA is supported by its members which consist of individual, Ex-Jet Programme participants, teachers, students, Corporate and Patron members. The Ireland Japan Association is dedicated to fostering strong economic and cultural ties between Ireland and Japan. Our mission is to provide a platform for businesses to connect, collaborate, and thrive in the dynamic landscape of international trade. About Ireland Japan Association
The Ireland Japan Association (IJA) is a not-for-profit organization that aims to maintain and strengthen the enduring bond between Irish and Japanese cultures. Established in 1990, the IJA is supported by its diverse membership, which includes individuals, corporate and patron members, and former participants of the Jet Programme. The association is also honored to have the Ambassador of Japan in Ireland as its Guest Patron Member.
The IJA has a rich history, having merged two predecessor organizations, the Ireland Japan Society and the Ireland Japan Economic Association. Its objectives are to promote economic and business ties between Ireland and Japan, as well as foster mutual understanding between both nations. The IJA actively supports cultural and educational initiatives, such as Japanese Saturday Schools and Japanese Language Teachers in Ireland, which play a vital role in educating Irish children about Japanese language and culture.
