IJsclub Uitgeest is a community skating club serving people in and around Uitgeest, the Netherlands. Its activities bring together recreational skaters, developing young athletes and members who want to train throughout the year. The club’s natural ice rink is located at Castricummerweg 10 in Uitgeest and provides a place for recreational skating when conditions allow.
During the winter season, from October through March, the club’s SchaatsTrainingsGroep trains at De Meent artificial ice rink in Alkmaar. Youth skating is a longstanding part of the club’s work and is organised at the Alkmaar rink in cooperation with the Alkmaar track committee of the KNSB’s North Holland–Utrecht district. The club also offers information about trial lessons, membership and club clothing.
Beyond the skating season, Fietsgroep Uitgeest holds training rides on Wednesday evenings from late April to mid-September. Routes take place in the Schermer polder near the Akersloot ferry or in the dunes, with departures from the De Meent sports hall.
