IJsvereniging Lemmer

IJsvereniging Lemmer is a long-standing skating and sports association in Lemmer, founded in 1861 and affiliated with the Royal Dutch Skating Association (KNSB). The club brings together local residents around skating, cycling and community activities, with events for both young people and adults. When weather permits, its ice rink opens to the public and can host long-track, short-track and marathon competitions, including Frisian and Dutch championships. The association also organizes school skating and youth skating sessions at Thialf in Heerenveen or the Elfstedenhal in Leeuwarden.

Beyond the winter season, IJsvereniging Lemmer runs inline-skating tours and cycling events, including the annual Lemmer time trial. It also supports longer-distance cycling challenges, such as the BRM 300 Pompeblêd brevet, in collaboration with Randonneurs Nederland. Members can take part in club gatherings and events, and the association shares news, results, photographs and information about its activities through its website. Based in Lemmer, the club maintains a clubhouse and an active volunteer-led community dedicated to sport and local participation.
