IJsvereniging Zuidwolde

IJsvereniging Zuidwolde is a community ice-skating association serving Zuidwolde and the surrounding area in the Netherlands. Founded more than 150 years ago, the vereniging is closely connected to local life and celebrates its history through community events, historical projects, and publications, including the anniversary book Krakend ijs breekt niet. Its main service is access to a local outdoor ice rink, located at Westerseweg 13, opposite Garage Zuur.

The association monitors ice safety and shares updates on whether the rink is open; when skating is possible, a green-and-white flag is displayed at designated locations in Zuidwolde and Noordwolde. Visitors can find information about rink times, location, organization, and membership or season tickets on its website. The association also organizes activities for residents, including anniversary events, children’s crafts, and a clothing exchange.

Its site supports the community with notices about found and lost items, allowing people to report missing belongings or check whether recovered items may be theirs
