About Ikorta
Ikorta Enamel Jewelry Studio • ტიხრული მინანქრის საწარმო იკორთა | Tserovani is a social enterprise that was founded in 2012 by For Better Future, an NGO in the Tserovani IDP Settlement. With a core focus on professional development and employment opportunities, Ikorta aims to empower its beneficiaries. This social enamel jewelry enterprise has 10 dedicated individuals, mainly women, working together to create stunning pieces.
In Georgia, there are numerous internally displaced people (IDPs) due to the Russo-Georgian war in 2008, many of whom are now settled in Tserovani. By reinvesting the profits from jewelry sales, Ikorta contributes to the civil and economic development of the community, particularly for youth and women. The enterprise plays a crucial role in promoting employment, professional empowerment, and increased income for the beneficiaries.
Ikorta offers a wide range of enamel silver jewelry and handicrafts, meticulously crafted using traditional Georgian techniques. In addition, Ikorta is a proud member of the Social Enterprise Organizations Network, a cofounder of the Social Enterprise Alliance, and a member of the Georgia's Traditional Craft Association.
