Ikstar is a Romanian-language personal website created by Krista Lurtz for people living with incurable, chronic and autoimmune illnesses, as well as for the family and friends who support them. Drawing on her experience with mixed connective tissue disease and related conditions, including scleroderma, fibromyalgia, myositis, vasculitis, Sjögren’s syndrome and Raynaud’s, Krista shares reflections on adapting to life with pain, fatigue and limitations while continuing to find joy and purpose. The site’s central resource is “Survival Guide,” a personal guide that encourages readers to develop approaches suited to their own circumstances, recognizing that symptoms and responses to illness vary from person to person.
