About IKWRO
IKWRO is a registered charity that provides support and guidance to women and girls of Middle Eastern, North African, and Afghan descent living in the UK who have experienced or are at risk of honour based abuse. Their services include free advice, advocacy, and counselling in multiple languages such as Kurdish, Farsi, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Turkish, and English. IKWRO runs a refuge that offers safe accommodations and specialized support to single women facing honour based abuse, forced marriage, and domestic violence.
Additionally, they provide training programs for women and girls to help them understand their rights in the UK and offer assistance with English language classes, education, and employment opportunities. IKWRO also offers advice and training for professionals to raise awareness and improve prevention and support services. Their mission is to protect the rights and equality of Middle Eastern and North African women and girls while combating discrimination and violence.
IKWRO is independent of any religion or political affiliation and supports women from all backgrounds. With a growing demand for their services, they assisted over 2200 women and girls in the past year alone
