Il Delphino is a volunteer association based in the Mugello area of Florence, Italy. Established informally in 2002 as a self-help group and formally constituted as a volunteer association in 2003, it is made up mainly of parents of children and young people with disabilities. The association works to support its members and promote opportunities for participation, inclusion and social connection.
Its activities include inclusive workshops, recreational programmes and social events for young people. Projects featured on its website include DIVERtirSI SABATO, a Saturday programme combining creative activities and opportunities to socialise, as well as summer centres. Il Delphino has also supported the development of “Seconda Stella a Destra,” a multisensory room in Barberino di Mugello, featuring an interactive FlySky carpet.
The association invites people to become members and contribute ideas to its work. Supporters can also make donations, volunteer, help with activities or organise an event. Through its projects and community partnerships, Il Delphino seeks to build connections and create engaging experiences for young people and their families.
