International Legion for the Defense of Ukraine was formed by Presidential decree right after the outbreak of a full-scale Russian invasion, and has since taken part in the majority of crucial campaigns and battles of the war. The Legion consists of infantry and special task battalions, with teams embedded in some of the most prominent brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The candidate requirements include being 18-60 years of age, having no criminal record, no chronic diseases, physical fitness, and the ability to legally enter Ukraine.

The Legion recruits foreigners for all units under the Ground Forces Command with international teams, squads, companies, or battalions. Contract lengths are 3 years and can be automatically prolonged, with varied pay and bonuses based on service conditions. Injured soldiers receive free medical treatment and special payouts, while families of fallen soldiers receive compensation. If you're considering joining the International Legion, make sure to review the comprehensive FAQs on their website for more detailed information.
