The Monte Grappa Biosphere Reserve is a UNESCO MAB site spanning 66,000 hectares across the provinces of Belluno, Treviso and Vicenza. It brings together 24 municipalities around the Monte Grappa massif, its surrounding foothills, nearby hills and upper plains. Bounded by the Piave and Brenta rivers, the reserve is a living landscape where biodiversity, cultural heritage and local communities are closely connected.

The reserve promotes conservation, education, research and sustainable development, serving as a local laboratory for practical responses to wider environmental and social challenges. Its work includes projects, learning activities, public events and opportunities for community participation, with a dedicated focus on involving young people. Initiatives include ApiPRO, which develops educational bee parks and supports native melliferous plants, and CONNATURALP, which explores links between ecosystem health, biodiversity and human wellbeing through nature-based therapies. The reserve also shares news, project documents, videos and event information, including activities associated with the “Il Grappa sopra le Nuvole” festival.
