Illawarra Midwifery and Lactation

Illawarra Midwifery and Lactation is a private midwifery practice led by Robyn Fowler, an endorsed registered midwife serving women and families in the Illawarra and surrounding areas. Its approach is grounded in the view that pregnancy and childbirth are significant life experiences and, for most women, normal physiological processes. Care is personalised, holistic and provided in partnership with each woman, with attention to her social, emotional, cultural, spiritual and psychological needs.

The practice offers antenatal and postnatal care, typically through home appointments tailored to clinical needs. Antenatal services include pregnancy support, education and preparation for life with a baby, as well as medication prescribing and referrals for pathology, ultrasound and allied health services. Postnatal care includes maternal and newborn assessments, emotional support, and breastfeeding education and guidance, with visits generally continuing from birth to six weeks.

Robyn also has experience in lactation support, antenatal education and assisting at homebirths as a second midwife. Appointments may be bulk billed to Medicare or eligible for rebates
