Illinois Fly Fishing Company

Illinois Fly Fishing Company (IFFC) is an Illinois-based fly fishing education and guiding business focused on helping people become mindful, independent anglers. Based in Palos Heights, the company introduces customers to fishing opportunities in Illinois and teaches the craft through practical, personalized instruction. Its services are designed for beginners as well as anglers looking to refine their skills or prepare for a fishing adventure.

IFFC offers one-to-one and two-person casting lessons, along with half-day and full-day guided lessons that emphasize education, confidence, and technique across different species. Its eight-hour Fly Fishing Crash Course combines classroom learning with time on stillwater and moving water. Participants can learn knots, casting, wading safety, line mending, matching the hatch, reading water, and proper fish handling. For anglers seeking continued, individualized support, private mentorship provides up to two days of lessons per month, with a plan shaped around each participant’s goals and practice tasks between sessions. Across its offerings, IFFC emphasizes learning through experience and developing skills for greater independence on the water.
