Suomen Ilmailuliitto ry (SIL) on urheilu- ja harrasteilmailun valtakunnallinen keskusjärjestö, jonka keskeinen tehtävä on edunvalvonta. Edunvalvonnassa huolehditaan muun muassa siitä, että harrasteilmailijoillekin riittää ilmatilaa eikä se ole kokonaan kaupallisen- tai sotilasilmailun käytössä.

About Ilmailuliitto
Suomen Ilmailuliitto (SIL) serves as the national organization for recreational, sports, and general aviation in Finland. With over 200 clubs nationwide, SIL is dedicated to the promotion and safeguarding of aviation interests. The organization primarily focuses on advocacy for its members, ensuring that their voices are heard in aviation matters, particularly in initiatives such as Airspace 2027 and U-Space projects.
SIL offers a wealth of resources, including insurance benefits and a subscription to the Ilmailu magazine, which is published six times a year and informs members about events, experiences, and aviation news. The union supports a diverse range of aviation disciplines, including powered flight, gliding, ultralight aviation, paramotoring, skydiving, hot air ballooning, model flying, and drone activities. Additionally, SIL hosts various events and competitions, providing members with opportunities to engage and develop their skills in the aviation community.
