About ILT
ILT | Invercargill is a brand that belongs to the people of Invercargill. Established in 1944 after 38 years of prohibition, ILT operates under the trust system, ensuring that the legal sales of alcohol directly benefit the community. Upholding their three mandates, ILT provides quality hospitality businesses, operates in the interest of public wellbeing, and distributes profits back to the community through grants and donations.
With a diverse range of 23 hospitality businesses, ILT offers accommodation, bars and restaurants, conference facilities, liquor stores, neighbourhood taverns, and out-catering services. They employ over 650 people and contribute to the community through grants, sponsorships, and scholarships. This funding supports community groups, arts, education, and sports, as well as the development of impressive facilities and infrastructure in Invercargill.
ILT is governed by a publicly elected board that ensures grants and funding result in widespread community benefit. Their vision is to create a vibrant Invercargill, and they prioritize community ownership and involvement in all their initiatives.
