IMARA-UGANDA EDUCATION FUND

Imara-Uganda Education Fund is a registered charity working to improve educational opportunities for disadvantaged children in northern Uganda. Established in 2011, following earlier support provided from 2009, the organisation responds to the lasting effects of conflict and displacement, which left many children orphaned and facing significant barriers to education. Its work focuses particularly on orphans, children with disabilities and learners with visual impairment.

The charity provides scholarships and grants for school fees, helping children attend school and build brighter futures. It also supports schools and their communities by funding educational materials and facilities. Current campaigns seek assistance for more children with visual impairment and other disadvantaged learners, and for the development of a secondary school for blind and other students in the Lira area. Planned facilities include a library, a braille library and computer rooms, alongside fundraising for boys’ dormitory accommodation. Imara-Uganda Education Fund invites supporters to donate, volunteer and get involved in its campaigns and events, helping expand access to education and improve learning opportunities for children in northern Uganda.
