Instituut voor Medische Dringende Hulpverlening

IMDH vzw (Instituut Medische Dringende Hulpverlening) is a Belgian organisation dedicated to emergency medical assistance and education. Based in Bruges, it supports the MUG helicopter serving West Flanders, helping deliver first care to people in hard-to-reach locations. The organisation reports that the helicopter can reach around two million people and save approximately ten minutes in urgent situations; keeping it operational costs about €850,000 per year, and donations help fund its work.

Alongside helicopter support, IMDH provides flexible, tailored first-aid training for businesses, schools, associations and the wider public. Courses cover practical responses to accidents and medical conditions, AED use, and baby and child resuscitation. Its programmes include training for schoolchildren, teachers, employees, healthcare professionals and childcare providers, as well as advanced courses such as European Paediatric Advanced Life Support and the European Trauma Course. IMDH is recognised by Kind & Gezin as a training centre for baby and toddler resuscitation. The organisation also offers information about sponsorship and fundraising, and gives sponsors visibility through its helicopter and branded van.
