About Surrey Coalition of Disabled People
The Independent Mental Health Network (IMHN) is a vital collective dedicated to enhancing mental health services across Surrey and North East Hampshire. Funded by NHS Commissioners, IMHN brings together individuals aged 18 and over with lived experiences of mental health challenges or those who care for someone facing similar issues. The network aims to initiate and foster collaboration with NHS service providers to refine care delivery and ensure that mental health services meet the needs of the community.
IMHN encourages active participation, holding bi-monthly coordinating meetings for members to connect and influence mental health service improvement. Additionally, the network offers a range of services, including peer support group meetings, one-on-one appointments, and access to resources aimed at promoting physical activity and shared experiences.
Through initiatives like the Surrey Adult Mental Health Alliance and various forums, IMHN amplifies voices of individuals with diverse backgrounds, fostering co-production and advocacy for better mental health care, while also inviting new members to join this impactful journey.
