Welcome to IMIA! IMIA, the International Medical Informatics Association, is an independent organization that was established in 1989. Our mission is to bring together people from around the world to advance biomedical and health informatics science, education, and practice through mutual learning and exchange of knowledge, skills, and ideas. We aim to nurture a collaborative global community that encourages and supports international initiatives to improve health for all.

At IMIA, we offer a range of products and services to fulfill our mission. These include our internationally acclaimed biennial "World Congress on Medical and Health Informatics," where experts gather to share their research and advancements in the field. We also have various working and special interest groups that focus on specific areas of interest within medical informatics.

Additionally, IMIA offers an accredited Health & Biomedical Informatics program, providing education and training opportunities for those interested in pursuing a career in this field. We also have a Code of Ethics that guides our members in their professional conduct.
