Immersion Libre is a Toulouse-based freediving club founded by enthusiasts in the summer of 2005. Dedicated entirely to apnea, the club is affiliated with both the FFESSM and AIDA and brings together more than 80 members, from recreational participants to competitive athletes. Its activities include weekly pool training, sessions in a diving pit, sea weekends, freediving trips, stretching, and theory classes. Instruction is provided by salaried BE-qualified instructor and coach Fabien Clément, alongside volunteer federal supervisors.
The club supports a range of freediving disciplines. Members can train in constant weight, with or without fins, and dynamic apnea, in which participants swim horizontally underwater. Static apnea focuses on breath-hold time and relaxation. The club also covers variable-weight and no-limit disciplines using a weighted sled, as well as recreational underwater hiking and snorkeling. Through its varied training and activities, Immersion Libre offers members opportunities to develop technique, concentration, and performance while sharing a passion for freediving.
