Immigrant Buddies is a Houston-based startup founded in September 2023, dedicated to helping immigrants seamlessly adjust to life in the United States. Recognizing the challenges faced by the rapidly growing immigrant population, Immigrant Buddies connects newcomers with local volunteer "Buddies." These Buddies offer support in navigating essential areas such as employment, healthcare, language skills, education, and legal services.

The service currently operates manually via sign-ups through their website, with plans to evolve into a user-friendly peer-to-peer platform and app. This future platform will allow immigrants to search for and interact with Buddies tailored to their specific needs. Immigrant Buddies aims to foster meaningful cross-cultural relationships, promote understanding, and enhance societal diversity, ultimately contributing to a prosperous economy that benefits from the rich experiences and talents of immigrants.

Led by founder Jennifer Jiang, who brings personal experience as an early childhood immigrant, the initiative is supported by a talented team of volunteers committed to creating a supportive community.
