ImmunoACT is an Indian biotechnology company developing and delivering CAR-T cell therapies for cancer. Established in 2018 as a spin-off from IIT Bombay, the company builds on research begun in 2013 and has developed its proprietary platform and manufacturing capabilities in India. Its flagship therapy, NexCAR19, is described as India’s first approved CAR-T treatment and is intended for certain B-cell cancers, including acute lymphoblastic leukemia and large B-cell lymphoma. The treatment modifies a patient’s own immune cells to recognize and attack cancer cells.
ImmunoACT’s work spans research, clinical development, manufacturing, and support for treatment delivery. Its integrated platform includes in-house production capabilities, and its WHO-certified GMP facility is designed to supply cell and gene therapies. The company works with more than 130 authorised cancer treatment centres in India and provides clinician-focused support. It also advances a pipeline of therapies and collaborates with academic, healthcare, and commercial partners. Through a partnership with Cipla, ImmunoACT is working to expand access to talicabtagene autoleucel in South Africa, Algeria, and Morocco.
