Impro Theatre is a Los Angeles nonprofit theatre company and school dedicated to performing, teaching, and expanding the art of unscripted storytelling. For more than 37 years, it has created fully improvised, full-length plays inspired by influential authors, playwrights, composers, and theatrical genres. Each performance is developed in the moment, drawing on performers’ verbal skill, physicality, and deep preparation to make every show unique. The company’s professional actors, writers, and directors research and rehearse each style before bringing it to the stage.
Impro Theatre presents professional productions, student performances, guest shows, and events, with select performances available in person and via livestream or on demand. Its Impro Theatre School offers classes for actors and non-actors at all experience levels, teaching fundamental improvisation, storytelling, and the creation of unscripted plays. The school emphasizes a welcoming, joyful, and noncompetitive environment. Based in Los Feliz, Impro Theatre also provides studio rental and invites audiences to support its mission through donations, tickets, and community participation.
