About Improv Fest
The New Zealand Improv Festival is an exciting and innovative brand that brings improvisational theater to the stage. With a talented team of production, administration, and marketing professionals, they are dedicated to planning and executing an unforgettable experience for audiences. The festival takes place annually in October at BATS Theatre in Wellington.
Led by Artistic Co-Directors Matt Powell and Jim Fishwick, along with Festival Producer Eleanor Strathern and Communications Director Emma Maguire, this dynamic team ensures a seamless and entertaining festival experience. Marea Colombo, the Partnerships Director, and Austin Harrison, the Community Manager, collaborate with the local community to create a sense of inclusivity and connection. The New Zealand Improv Trust oversees the management of the festival, with Chair Tai Samaeli, Board Member Lisa Garrity, Secretary Jennifer O'Sullivan, and Treasurer Claire Lanyon.
