Improv Hawai‘i (ImprovHI) is a Honolulu-based improv comedy collective that brings people together to create and enjoy unscripted comedy. Founded in 2012 by Hawai‘i-born actor Kimee Balmilero, the organization has grown from a community calendar into a creative home for comedy in Hawai‘i. Its performers and instructors come from varied backgrounds, including writing, music, teaching, data analysis, real estate, and acting.
ImprovHI offers live comedy shows, classes, and workshops for people at every experience level. Classes range from one-night beginner workshops to six-week courses, welcoming both newcomers and seasoned performers. Its shows are created in the moment, with audience suggestions helping shape each performance. For organizations, ImprovHI also provides custom corporate training workshops designed to help teams communicate, work together, and have fun.
The collective is based at The Tiny Stage in Kaka‘ako, where it fosters a supportive environment for collaboration and creative risk-taking. Whether attending a show, taking a class, or building team skills, participants can explore confidence and creativity through comedy.
