IMSA

Indian Meat Science Association (IMSA) is a professional association established in 2001 and headquartered at the National Meat Research Institute in Hyderabad. It brings together meat animal and poultry producers, scientists, processors, exporters, educators, students, and others involved in meat science and technology. IMSA advances research, training, and extension, provides a forum for exchanging current knowledge, and encourages professional expertise and integrity among its members.

The association focuses on the science and technology of meat production, processing, and marketing. Areas represented in its work include novel meat sources, sustainability, animal welfare and slaughter, muscle biology, microbiological and chemical hazards, preservation, by-product utilization, value addition, packaging, and meat-based functional foods. IMSA supports these interests through conferences, training, and knowledge-sharing opportunities, and publishes the Journal of Meat Science, with editorial resources and author guidelines for contributors. It also offers society membership, networking, a library, gallery, and knowledge center, connecting professionals and supporting the development of meat science and technology across India.
