@incaseproject.com
Our project, INCASE, combines the skills of natural scientists, economists and statisticians to account for nature's benefits to people so that we can take stock of what we have in a way that helps everyone to better understand nature's importance, and to manage it in a more sustainable way.

About INCASE project
Irish Natural Capital for Sustainable Environments (INCASE) is a pioneering EPA-funded project in Ireland, running from March 2019-2023. INCASE focuses on developing natural capital accounts for various sites in Ireland, mapping out ecosystem and geosystem services through the UN System of Environmental-Economic Accounting-Ecosystem Accounting (SEEA-EA). The project team collated data, identified challenges, knowledge gaps, and proposed a framework for integrating Natural Capital Accounting into Ireland's policies.
INCASE involves three key phases, including exploring methodologies, ecosystem accounts for river catchments, and economic analysis. The diverse team consists of experts in ecology, economics, accounting, and more. By leveraging available data sources and conducting economic impact assessments, INCASE aims to inform decision-making and assess the value of ecosystem services.
This innovative project aims to enhance environmental and economic policies in Ireland for a sustainable future
