About Indigenous Information Network
Indigenous Information Network (IIN) is a non-profit, volunteer-run NGO based in Kenya. Since its establishment in 1996, IIN has been dedicated to addressing the information needs of Indigenous Peoples and local communities. The organization focuses on the most vulnerable members of society, including women, girls, children, and youth.
IIN recognizes the importance of conservation and protection of the environment for our survival, and actively engages in environmental conservation activities at various levels. They work directly with indigenous groups from rural areas, addressing issues such as environmental conservation, health, women's rights, education, water access, economic empowerment, and land rights. IIN believes that information is empowering, and thus strives to engage communities and keep them informed.
They establish knowledge centers and contact persons in each community to facilitate the sharing of development activities and social issues. Additionally, IIN networks and shares information with indigenous peoples from Africa and other regions. If you're passionate about promoting Indigenous Peoples as tools for social, cultural, economic, and political empowerment, join IIN in making a difference.
Follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube to stay updated on their programs and initiatives. Together, let's work towards a brighter future for Indigenous Peoples
