The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Performance Framework (HPF) is a comprehensive initiative that focuses on improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Australia. This framework aggregates data from various sources to provide an up-to-date overview of health status, system performance, and the broader determinants influencing health, targeting areas such as socio-economic factors, environmental influences, and community capacities.

The HPF aims to inform policy, planning, program development, and research, making it an essential resource for stakeholders working towards closing the health gap between First Nations people and non-Indigenous Australians. Key initiatives highlighted include addressing health risks, enhancing access to services, and understanding cultural and social determinants of health.

The framework offers detailed measures across three tiers: health status and outcomes, determinants of health, and health system performance—ensuring that data is readily accessible for informed decision-making. Collaboratively funded by the National Indigenous Australians Agency and other partners, the HPF is instrumental in fostering a healthier future for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations.
