The Slovak Association of Individual Psychology (SAIP) is a community of professionals whose work is rooted in the ideas of Austrian psychiatrist Alfred Adler. Based in Bratislava, the association promotes individual psychology and Adlerian approaches to psychotherapy, counselling, education and mental health. Its activities include professional development and public education, bringing practitioners and people interested in Adlerian psychology together through events, publications and shared learning.
SAIP organises an annual summer school featuring specialist themes and guest lecturers, and offers a multi-year psychotherapy training programme in individual psychology. The programme is accredited by Slovakia’s Ministry of Health for the certified professional activity of psychotherapy for eligible healthcare workers and meets criteria of the European Association for Psychotherapy. The association also shares information and inspiration through articles, interviews and online content, including material on child psychotherapy and family counselling. Its website provides information about services and an outpatient clinic, alongside news and publications. Guided by Adler’s emphasis on belonging and social connection, SAIP supports a thoughtful, relationship-centred understanding of psychological wellbeing.
