The Indonesian Energy Innovation Challenge is an annual event that brings together entrepreneurs, students, and professionals in the Indonesian ecosystem who are involved or interested in the energy transition. The challenge aims to stimulate and mobilize the innovative generation to develop ideas in renewable energy solutions, contributing to Indonesia's energy transition. The event offers two categories for participants to choose from.

In the Start-Up Pitches category, energy start-ups have the opportunity to present their developed products or services that align with Indonesia's energy transition goals. A jury of professionals from the energy sector will evaluate the pitches. The Impact Solution Pitches category focuses on students, youth, and young entrepreneurs who have innovative ideas for achieving an effective Indonesian energy transition.

Participants in this category will identify and discuss challenges in the energy transition, map relevant ecosystem partners, and propose potential solutions. The challenge follows a timeline, starting with open registration in March, and culminating in the announcement of winners in May. Finalists will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas or start-ups in a live session with judges.

Previous winners of the Indonesian Energy Innovation Challenge have presented innovative solutions, such as a solar tracker for efficient solar PV, waste management and circular economy solutions, and an innovative power plant that utilizes organic waste as a raw material.
